Welcome to Chokecherry Forge.
We are a traditional smithy (blacksmith shop) that
specialises in items from the Middle Ages - from the Dark Ages
to the High Middle Age to the Renaissance. Weapons, whether they
be axes, war spears, boar spears, knives or even swords are lovingly
hand-crafted with care to attention and detail - just like the
originals!
We also make a very wide variety of items, not just
medieval weapons. In the Middle Ages the blacksmith was the lifeline
of the community. Anything meant to last was created by a smith.
We continue this tradition by making candleabras, sconces, candle
holders, axes, knives and many other items that are essential
around the camp site as well as around the home.
The ornaments, jewelry and decorations are hand crafted
to ensure a period look, feel and texture to the item. In the
Middle Ages they did not have the machines and moulds that are
available today, items were lovingly created by hand - just as
we create them today. If you want an item that looks REAL - looks
like it is right from the Middle Ages - then you have found the
right place!

All items are created to a very high degree and will
undergo the same punishments and trials the period originals would
have gone through. Even though you may use these items as decorations,
they have been fully designed and crafted to be fully functional!
Custom commisioned items!
We also take custom orders and will design and hand
craft almost anything within reason for a very reasonable charge.
If you want to give a very special gift, one that not
only looks good, but is unique and fully usable and will last,
then look no further. Not only will you be giving an item that
will be treasured and has spirit to it, it will also be an heirloom
that can be passed down from generation to generation.
